Superb Dutch Bombe Commode/ Chest of Drawers in wonderful original condition. This is an outstanding example of 18th century craftmanship and as most are made from mahogany or walnut so this rosewood one is a rare find. The oversailing top is covered in stunning rosewood veneers and has a beautiful scalloped and moulded edge. This wonderful set has 4 graduating shaped drawers carved decoration to the curved sides and apron. All the drawers run smoothly, have dovetail joints construction and retain original brass handles and back plates apart from the bottom right which seems to be replaced at one time but very close match still having its original back plate. Like all antique furniture there are some imperfections but these only add to the charm and character of this solid chest of drawers. This is a striking example of period furniture with incredible graining and amazing patina offering not only storage space but history to any home.
