Description

This superb 18th century English mahogany single chair was once part of an important and grand set of dining chairs. It is beautifully made in rich early Cuban mahogany. Chippendale heavily influences the design and could have come directly from one of his pattern books.

The chair is oversized in its proportions and has some very finely hand carved detail and decoration. It is upholstered in a hand worked needlepoint which retains good colour and condition. This chair is a very pleasing piece of English furniture that would work well in many positions and is a great reference for collecting early English furniture.
Circa 1760

Height 96cm x width 59cm x depth 54cm
