Description

A very decorative pair of French porcelain blue and white hand painted vases made by Sampson of Paris to imitate 19th century Delft pottery.

The vases are very nicely hand painted in cobalt blue over a white ground with traditional designs and panels with views of sailing boats and windmills.

The pair of vases are in very good original condition with no damage or restoration. Both pieces however have a manufacturing flaw where they touched in the kiln whilst being glazed. This small area was ground and polished in the factory leaving behind an interesting part of their history and creation and are shown in the photographs.

Both vases are marked with fake Delft marks on their underside.

Height 27cm x width 13cm x depth 13cm
