Description

This very handsome early 20th century leather upholstered high backed desk chair has a terrific look with its worn and well patinated faded leather which shows long term use but is still in very good serviceable condition. The chair sits on a central pedestal with four splayed legs decorated with carved rebated panels and finished with brass toe caps and casters. Above, is the heavy cast iron mechanism which is adjustable in height whilst also full rotating and has a spring tensioned reverse tilt mechanism for a more relaxed position. The chair is of a classic regency library chair design and has fully upholstered arms and a high back. All covered in old deep buttoned reddish dark tan leather which is well patinated and polished with lots of age related marks and signs of use, very pleasing to the eye. In lovely original condition with no tears, holes or repairs.
