Description

This fine late 19th century French bronze study of a Pierrot singing and playing the lute set onto a naturalistic cobbled bronze base with a fallen candlestick at his feet. It is entitled on the front edge Au Clair De La Lune and is signed on the reverse by the sculptor Eutrope Bornet, French 1833 – 1906. He was well known for his figurative works and this large decorative example is in good condition with a mid brown patination.
