A fine small Regency flame mahogany bow fronted chest of drawers
This lovely small and beautifully proportioned early Regency bow fronted chest of drawers stands on elegant and slender splade feet with a shaped frieze. The chest has four graduated full length drawers with original locks and escutcheons and a full matching set of brass oval shaped handles which are elegantly restrained in their decoration and have a bronze-like lustre. Each drawer is veneered in flame mahogany which was originally taken from the same large panel to ensure it matches and follows through with the figured grain on each drawer. The top is slightly less figured but has a well loved and used patina which follows through with all aspects of this fine original chest of drawers which has a rich and mellow colour. Circa 1820
