Description

This a very pretty candlestick in the form of a crane which dates from the Meiji period, late 19th century. The crane is stood upon the back of a tortoise, dipping forward looking for food. The sconce is formed as a flower on a branch held within the crane's mouth. The bronze is 29 cms high, 15 cms wide and 8 cms deep.
