Description

This is a beautifully inlaid Vizagapatam hardwood box from the Madras region of India which dates from around 1900. The very decorative box has been skilfully and intricately inlaid with bone, coloured fruitwoods and mother of pearl. It has a geometric six pointed star and hexagon design to the top, whilst inside there is a pink silk lining and more inlay to the inside of the lid. The box is in excellent condition and is a good size, measuring 30cm by 30cm by 9cm.
