This is an original oil painting on canvas after the original “Madonna & Child with St. John” painted by Raphael in or around 1507.Also known as “La Belle Jardiniere” the painting depicts the Madonna, a young Christ and a young John the Baptist.
The painting is very well executed by the artist in oils on canvas and is framed in a wonderful large cruciform frame with pierced fretwork spandrels a a central ebonised oval with blind fretwork design.
A most decorative work of art of great scale and impact.
The frame measures by 80 cms in height and is 95 cms wide.
