This is a rare and unusual piece of needlework dating from the time of the Jubilee of King George V and Queen Mary. The sampler, by Doris Lyndsay Cuff, is a celebration of King George's reign and of the Commonwealth countries around the world. Depicted are people and places of the commonwealth and the sampler is embroidered with a log verse that praises King George and his empire.This measures 47 cms by 60 cms overall and is in excellent condition. A most interesting and attractive piece.
