Description

This is an early Greek icon of Christ crucified on a cross shaped wooden panel in hand painted and gilded gesso dating from around 1750 The painting is in excellent condition and still intact with a raised moulded frame around the piece which is gessoed onto its original thin pinewood panel that has been later mounted onto thicker antique wood backing boards. The crucifix measures 37 cms high by 29 cms wide by 5 cms deep.
