Description

This is a very pretty pair of Japanese Shibayama black lacquered panels from the Meiji period. The panels are beautifully inlaid with both mother of pearl and abalone in very fine detail and show exotic peacocks amongst branches and chrysanthemum blooms. Unusual to find in such colours and also such exquisite detail, they are a very attractive pair.

The panels are most decorative items and a good size measuring 60 cms by 36 cms.
