Description

This is a quite exceptional Regency style painted armoire with a most elegant design and beautiful classical parcel gilt motifs. The piece dates from the late 19th century and is a very pretty pale pistachio shade. The hand painted finish and the gilt gesso are all in excellent condition
The breakfront outswept cornice has a delicate anthemion leaf design above classical cartouch. The cabinet beneath has classical caryatids to the corners and is beautifully gilded with framed cartouch of classical figures. There is further attractive gilding to the base and the robe is raised on neatly carved spade feet decorated with anthemion leaves.
The large and practical wardrobe is in excellent condition throughout with a very spacious cabinet sectioned into two huge hanging spaces above two corresponding large drawers in the base.
The piece measures 156 cms wide 217 cms high by 58 deep.
This is a sectional wardrobe so dismantles into panels for transport enabling ease of installation in your home.
