Description

This is a good early sampler by Caroline Abigail Bragger with fine work and many interesting aspects to the embroidery. The sampler is in very good original condition and depicts Adam and Eve as well as birds and vases of flowers with urns and birdcages in the design. The lovely central verse is framed and bordered by birds trees and butterflies and the whole work has an attractive entwined floral leaf border.
The sampler is in what appears to be its original period rosewood frame that compliments the piece.
The frame measures 38 cms by 52 cms overall.
