Rams Head Antiques

Description

This is a delightful 19th century sampler by Agnes Lovie dated December 1851.
The needlework is in excellent condition and is well exectuted in lovely soft pastel colours. The work displays alphabet and family initials as well her dog and cat. There are stylised bowls of fruit and a lovely central stylised tree all surrounded by a pretty foliate border.
The work is in beautifully preserved order and is in what appears to be its original frame which is in good condition overall with a few minor losses to the outer narrow gilt moulding.
The piece measures 38 cms by 52 cms overall including the frame.
