Possibly by Gertrude Florence Mary Cox British , 20th century. Active c.1930–1980. Painter, watercolourist, etcher. Gertrude Cox studied art under R Kirkland Jamieson, she went on to exhibited at the Royal Institute of Oil Painters, Royal Society of Painters in Watercolours, Royal Society of British Artists, Royal West of England Academy and at the Society of Women Artists. She also took part in the Salon des Artistes Français in Paris. The Royal Albert Memorial Museum and Art Gallery, Exeter, holds her work. Lived in Exeter.

In 1944, a monthly Cats and Kittens magazine appeared published by Mr and Mrs Sydney France. Though breeding was a always a popular topic, it also catered for a more general audience. It had a monthly feature from the USA. The Cats Protection League also featured in its pages. It ceased publication with the July 1956 issue due to the ever rising costs of production and distribution.

CONDITION AND PRESENTATION
In our description, if a picture is shown to be framed then the frame will be included with the sale of the picture. Unless stated otherwise all unframed watercolours, drawings and prints have been mounted onto acid-free conservation board using either Japanese hinging paper or reversible wheat starch past. Unframed and mounted pictures are then wrapped in clear polyester film to protect both the picture and the mount. All conservation work has been carried out by accredited conservators.
