Description

This 3-dimensional Weathervane Cockerel was made of 2 sheets of beaten copper. The tail is a single sheet, inserted and bolted to the main body. Showing only vestiges of the original gold leaf surface, this old cockerel has seen some life, with gunshot holes, and has come apart at the seams. However, he was once a handsome and proud fellow and is now preserved decoratively by being mounted onto a central wooden pole. Circa 1900.
