Description

A quite superb and generously proportioned early Victorian mahogany breakfast or centre table of circular form. The top is in eye-catching mottled grain mahogany, raised on an elegant ‘gun barrel’ turned stem with shaped collar and concave sided platform base with turned feet and original castors. The top of this table can be detached for ease of transport, and can also be tipped upright when attached, allowing the table to be pushed into a corner and remain a decorative item when not in use.

Condition and Details of Restoration

This table is in original untouched structural condition and completely sound. The polish has been re-finished, by our own craftsmen, by hand in the traditional manner. There are some extremely minor old marks underneath the polish as might be expected on an example of this age, as can be seen from the photographs. The catch (used to secure the top when in use) is a period style replacement.
