Description

A quite superb early Victorian rosewood circular breakfast or centre table. The top is in eye-catching wild grained rosewood veneered on to tight grained mahogany for extra structural integrity, raised on an elaborately carved rosewood turned stem and tripod cabriole leg base with impressive carved paw feet. This type of foot is most commonly found on Regency or William IV period furniture, suggesting the table is an earlier than usual example of the Victorian era. The top of this table can be detached for ease of transport, and can also be tipped upright when attached, allowing the table to be pushed into a corner and remain a decorative item when not in use.

Diameter 51” (130cm) Height 29” (74cm)

Condition and Details of Restoration

This table is in original untouched structural condition and completely sound. The polish has been re-finished, by our own craftsmen, by hand in the traditional manner. There are some extremely minor old marks underneath the polish as might be expected on an example of this age, as can be seen from the photographs.
