Description

We have for sale a very attractive and high quality 1950s Isfahan Persian rug.

This very attractive densely knotted Cork wool rug is of a tradition Shah Abbas period curviliniar Isfahan design in red, blues and brown on an ivory ground consisting of a central flower head medalion surrounded by scrolling vines framed by spandrels and blood red meandering vine borders.

The rug is 82.5 inches (210cm long), 54 inches (138cm) wide and has a knot density of around 650 knots per square inch (around 1000,000 knots per square meter). The rug is in a good aged condition with no sign of moth damage and the wear one would expect from a well cared for 70 year old Persian Isfahan rug.
