Description

A fine and very impressive Felix Maurice Charpentier marble and gilt bronze sculptural mantel clock with candelarber garnitures.

The clock flanked by King Edward III and his son the Black Prince after the battle of Crécy 1346.Gurded by knights in fleur-de-lys armour. The clock face singed Charpentier & Cds Bronziers Rue Charlot & Paris steel feather suspension movement.
Condition:
The bronze is in a very good condition with minimal signs of wear. Dimensions Clock 18 inches high 28 wide and 7 deep,Knights 34 inches high and 9 deep.Very heavy.

Félix Maurice Charpentier (1858-1924)
Félix Maurice Charpentier studied at the École des Beaux-Arts in Avignon. Then he worked in the studio of Jules Cavelier and Amédée Doublemard at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris. Since 1879, he exhibited at the Salon des Artists Francais. Works by Charpentier can be found today in public gardens, such as Avignon and Paris, as well as in many museums.
