Description

This decorative pair of ceramic nude torsos, one male and the other female, are in the classical manner, without heads or limbs. They are a cream colour, with a crackle glaze to them. At over half a metre in height for the male, they are quite large and will make an interesting display, perhaps in a modernist interior, or even in a conservatory as centrepieces for a group of green plants.

Dating to the 20th century, these are ceramic and originate from the UK.

In generally good age related condition, there are three noticeable chips to the ceramic, one to the back of the male neck, one to the back of the male arm on the right, and one to the front of the female arm on the left. The colour of the male seems to change shade at around the level of the chest and there is a pinkish stain on the male belly. These issues are not obtrusive and the pieces stand well and are heavy and stable.
