Description

This is a fine and increasingly rare to find English Georgian Copper Coffee Pot.
It is 18th Century and dates about 1780.

They were known as Tavern, or Coffee House pots and were used in both Hostelries, and on the hearth and kitchen ranges in private homes and farmhouses.

This one is totally original, with a long and well patinated blackened handle of turned beech.

It has a hinged lid and double curved spout and is tin lined. The dovetailed seam construction typical of the period can be seen on the photos in the line of the riveted handle plate.

The finial knob to the lid is sound but slightly loose on its rivet.
Importantly, the hinge is in very good working order and there is no dents or damage to the mouth of the spout.

A very handsome piece of collectable antique domestic metal ware.

Measurements:
8.5 inches high to the finial.
12 inches wide to the tip of the handle
