Description

A SUPERB VINTAGE INDUSTRIAL SALVAGED TROLLEY

An excellent example of a small, early to mid 20th Century industrial trolley or cart, made by the historic SLINGSBY firm, of Bradford and London.

Has a wonderful vintage look and feel, clearly from a different time and a bygone industrial age.

Very heavy duty and built to last, with cast wheels, proudly embellished with the firm's name below thick boarding, the upper surface with a recessed maker's label to each side, as shown.

The front wheels have a fantastic turntable mechanism and a long 'T'-shaped pulling arm.

In absolutely perfect working order and highly, highly manoeuvrable the heavy wheels spin freely and the turntable action is smooth. The trolley roles along silently on solid rubber tyres and is very level and stable.

This really is a smart and genuinely useful example and today could have any number of forward uses:

Gardener's trolley (absolutely perfect for moving solid and heavy objects i.e. planters, plant pots, rockery stone etc)

Shop (great for moving heavy stock)

Retail Display (great for any shop with a gardening / industrial / heritage theme)

Workshop (upon which to move tools or engine parts

Stationary Engine trolley

Railwayana / Vintage Steam Railway Platform Trolley

Dimensions:

Bed: 76cms x 54cms
Height: 29.5 cms
Overall length, with arm out flat: 156cms.

Condition:

This is the best Slingsby trolley I have seen. It has been very, very well cared for and with light use only.
There is a split (age related) to one of the upper boards, as shown (still 100% solid) and there is a bit of wear and marking to the leading edge as shown, but that's about it.

It's a charming example, fit to go straight into industrial service once again, or, to retire gracefully in a boutique shop or garden.
