An oil painting on canvas by the acclaimed marine artist Thomas Bush Hardy (1842-1897). Born in Sheffield, Thomas Bush Hardy was not classically trained, but was to become one of the most sought after British marine water colourists of the 19th century.

Although well known for his watercolours, he also painted in oils, and his renditions of The Grand Canal and Doge's Palace in Venice are much sought after.

This is a good sized painting, the image being 23.5" (60 cm) x 15.5" (39 cm).
