A Spectacularly Bookmatched Pair of Early 19th Century Italian Walnut Commodes.

These beautiful commodes are of excellent colour and patination. They make an amazing impact due to the outstanding quality of the walnut veneers used both on the tops and on the drawer fronts. Each commode is bookmatched in three sections across the top and down the length of the fronts. The resulting effect is symmetrical, the lighter and darker sections of the wood alternating across the surface.

Each commode has four drawers and shaped pilasters with herm figures, drawn from classical sources, standing on square Marlborough feet and square sectioned legs.
