A superb Robert Thompson “Mouseman” pulpit given to commemorate the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II on 2nd June 1953. Constructed from good quality oak, the octagonal pulpit having a stepped moulded top above an egg & dart frieze leading to attractive fielded panels and gadrooned border. The polished interior having a collapsable seat and the carved commemorative details.The supporting pedestal of bowed tapering form joining the octagonal moulded and stepped base with carved mouse signature. The pulpit is accessed via the 5 oak steps with handrail and baluster turned rails and finished with a decorative corbel carving. The lectern also comes with the oak octagonal shaped canopy.The pulpit transports in 1 piece and the steps and canopy separately. Dimensions:- Pulpit Height…82’’/ 209cm. Width…51’’/ 129cm.
