Description

We are selling this brightly coloured 19th Century Japanese satsuma jar and cover which is decorated in imperial design. Traditionally dressed geisha cover the jar of family scenes within the home. Their robes in blues, reds and gold with enamelling to the walls of the home and throughout the scenes. The lid has a chrysanthemum flower finial and brightly coloured chrysanthemum design all over. Clearly signed to base (as shown in picture).

Measuring 9 inches in height and maximum body width 8 inches. In lovely original condition appropriate for age, please see all photos as they form part of description.
