Description

This is a very rare style of small 17th century gateleg table where the legs split to open and support the top. It is almost certainly Dutch and was probably brought over from Holland when William of Orange became king of England and created a fashion for all things Dutch. Its originality make it remarkable for a piece of this age and, for once, even the ironwork is untouched. The colour and patination are also very good. The small size means it makes a good side table with one leaf left down. Definitely a piece for a collector
