Chinese altar table, provincial with evidence of its working life.

Of good size and sturdy construction this piece would make for an interesting side table with plenty of character.

Strong joints, no looseness with the one central carved motif as showing in the images missing from the opposite side.

A superb, decorative yet perfectly useable piece of antique furniture that presents all of the evidence of being used for its original purpose. To the top can be found drips from a multitude of candles from decades of use. These have now set to a rock hard crust and form part of the surface finish along with the natural wear to the red lacquer finish.

Untouched by restoration provides such an interesting piece, just the way we like them.
