Description

This useful table has led a full life throughout the last 250 years and wears its history for all to admire.

The gun barrel column and legs in red walnut date to circa 1750. To the top of the column sits the original revolving bird cage mechanism. At some distant point in the tables past a replacement top has been fashioned. This is constructed from oak that definetly has some age to it, feasibly the same period as the base. Our belief to this being an old repair is the use of hand forged nails through the oak joining the top to the base.

This table has obviously been well loved and used and as such displays signs of use. Quite an interesting item of furniture with a story to tell. A charming piece of furniture that although not perfect is both decorative and practical to use today
