Amazing articulated painter’s easel by Clifford Milburn & Co of Fleet St London, with brass rods that allow it to be set at any angle in two planes. It also folds flat when not in use or for travelling. A remarkable piece of kit.
Superb piece with traces of old paint and signs of a well-lived life. Bags of patina that reach out across the years. The easel dates to circa turn of last century, so very late Victorian or early Edwardian. Say 1900 -1910. On display in the shop and well worth a look. As well as a working artists easel, this makes a fabulous display easel too. Ive tried to show this in a couple of the photos. The only change from ‘as made’ is that one nut has been replaced on one rod with a more modern equivalent. It is fully operational. A marvellous partner to the artists boxes (2) also in stock.
