Description

A striking, very large, Hinks oil lamp in excellent condition. The lamp stands 82.5 cm to the top of the shade and 90 cm to the top of the chimney. The brass base and column are very solid and finishes with a simple Doric capitol. The base has a width of 16 cm and stands 46 cm tall. The Hinks No 2 burner is in very good condition and works as it should and has had a new wick fitted. The brass collar to the font has been fitted with a new cork gasket, as has the underside of the burner – giving a good, snug, fit of the burner to the font. The Victorian acid etched, green tinged shade is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. A truly stunning oil lamp in great condition.
