Description

Edwardian Silver Sampson Mordan combination: bookmark, page holder and paper knife.
This ingenious combination made to Apperley's patent (patented in 1896) and contains: bookmark, paper knife and a leaf holder (the outer silver blade rotates to hold the leaves of a book open when read).
Clearly hallmarked in two places for Sampson Mordan & Co, London 1902. Also stamped: Apperley's patent. Please note that the other, full set of hallmarks and patent is beneath the shorter bookmarks' arm - difficult to show in photo.
In a very good condition, with no damage/repair, and in full working order. Possibly had a suspension ring to the top.
Weight: 15.9g. Folded length: 12cm.
