Silver & Mother of Pearl, mid-Victorian Fruit Knife
Hallmarked for Birmingham 1869 - U
The maker`s mark - H&T for Hilliard & Thomason,
Spencer Street, Birmingham.
A very good, medium sized fruit knife in little used condition.
The blade opens and closes correctly - but is still a little stiff from lack of use, but is improving.

Attractive shaped Mother of Pearl scales to both sides, with interesting engraving including a moose`s head, and the bust ofa man. Silver hinge facings. An oval silver cartouche, engraved - ML.
Excellent hallmarks and clean deep thumb nail groove.
Little used condition, but some shallow scratching of the blade, on both sides - bad cleaning. 156 years old.

Closed length:- 71 mms.
Knife weight:- 14.8 grams.
