Silver & Mother of Pearl, mid-Victorian Fruit Knife.
Hallmarked for Sheffield 1863 - date letter - V
The maker`s mark - EB for Edmund Bell, Montague Street,
Sheffield.
THe very first time I have come across this maker.
A superb, medium sized fruit knife in excellent unused condition.
The blade opens and closes correctly - snaps at 180 degrees,90 degrees, and snaps closed. It doesn`t need any work - it`s great and ready to go.

Attractive shaped Mother of Pearl scales to both sides, and with silver hinge facings.. A silver, oval, vacant cartouche in the centre of the Mother of Pearl.
Excellent hallmarks and clean deep thumb nail groove.

Superb unused condition, throughout. 162 years old.

Open length:- 137 millimetres.
Closed length:- 78 mms.
Knife weight:- 19.5 grams.
