Description

A delightful Victorian Cake Knife, 124 years old and in almost unused condition. --- will make a superb gift.

A Solid Silver, Kings Pattern Handle and ornate, solid silver blade. Fully hallmarked for Sheffield 1900, with the maker`s mark - I.E over &S, for Isaac Ellis & & Sons, Primus Works, Bridge Street, Sheffield.

The blade is beautifully decorated on one side with flowers a scrollwork. One edge is serrated for cutting through icing or other hard crust surface.

Slightly uneven at the point of the blade, and a dent in the end of the handle. The smooth faces of the handle show signs of use.

But, a word of caution, you must not put it into the dish washer - the heat will cause the blade and handle to separate.

Overall length:- 262 millimetres / 10.3 inches.
Weight:- 92.2 grams / 2.96 ounces.
