Description

A silver BUTTER KNIFE, with a beautiful blade - hallmarked for CHESTER 1907, and with the maker`s mark - HEB over FEB, for
Herbert & Frank Barker of Birmingham & London.
See the decoration on the scimitar shaped blade, and the mother of pearl handle with a bead band next to the silver collar.
The collar has been made by a specialist collar maker - John Biggin of Sheffield, and is hallmarked for Sheffield 1908.
This does not mean that the knife is a made up piece, but that Barker Brothers bought the collar in instead of making their own.
The box is non original, but the knife fits quite well.
