Taxidermy Puffer Blow/Porcupine Fish on Stand

Photos

Description

Rod mounted on a wooden ebonised circular plinth stand the puffer fish having external spines, pectoral and tail fins with gaping mouth.

In sound condition, these fish are very delicate when preserved and this example has some expected spine tip loss but remains in rather good overall order. He could benefit from a clean if so desired.

Pufferfish are generally believed to be the second–most poisonous vertebrates in the world, after the golden poison frog. This example however, we can assure you, has perished.

A curios tabletop talking point for those of you fed up with gazing at a bowl of fruit on the table or that dull photograph of your in laws on your mantelpiece.
