Case of Taxidermy Shrew & Slow Worm

Photos

Description

Encased in a perspex museum case with carrying handle, the shrew (Sorex araneus) watches, happy to cohabit with the slow worm (Anguis fragilis).

The specimens, and the naturalistic setting they reside in, are in superb condition whilst the cases remain in good general order, with only minor light scratching to the perspex.

Though very snake-like the slow worm is a legless lizard preferring hedgerows and grassland, and when attacked it will shed its tail to distract predators (it hasn’t been attacked here as it has a rather good relationship with the shrew). This Female slow worm (Eliza, a model) is happy to share her home with a Common Shrew (Dan the postman).

What a love in.
