Description

The solid two-piece mahogany tilt top on a rather unusually large box type revolving birdcage mechanism, over a thick ring turned gun barrel pedestal and raised on shaped cabriole legs and pad feet to the original concealed castors, surviving from the late George II period.

The table is in good original condition with a good colour and pleasing that it is retaining its original castors and the bird cage action is in working order. It is ready to go.

A ‘birdcage’ mechanism allows the top to revolve on the base and during the eighteenth century the tripod table became a popular form.

Versatility and timeless appeal abound.
