Description

The well-sized mid-century black painted oval wall mirror having the original sparkling mirror plate now foxed beautifully with age, surrounded by a deep primitive block wooden frame in black paint, and originally designed to be integral to a wall in Brighton, England, surviving from the third quarter of twentieth century England.

The mirror is in attractive, original and decorative condition. She has her all original plate glass throughout which has foxing and losses, though she can still be used as intended. The unusually constructed block frame is primitive but effective, with some mis-shapening to some areas as photographed with the central area being vacant, so it proves lighter than expected.

Salvaged from the streets of Brighton, this is an unusual and imposing mirror and could also be hung in landscape form. Oval mirrors in general are a little more difficult to source as a whole, and the size and originality of this example makes it an attractive proposition.

Probably unique, this is a prominent and unabashed piece of mid-century industrial salvaged décor.
