Description

A wonderful original signed etching by German artist Franz Hecker. Hecker is a curious and highly collectable artist, having studied at the Dusseldorf Academy of Fine Arts he continued his studies at Academie Julian in Paris. He returned to later to Germany in Osnabruck where he established himself as a successful artist until his death in 1944.

This etching is of an old man sitting at an open window named ‘The Watcher’ and is hand signed in pencil by Hecker to the bottom right and is offered framed and glazed in an oak frame. The etching plate is 35cm 27x cm and the frame is 53.5cm x 37.5cm.

Condition

The condition is very good. There is some toning to the paper that would be expected of a print this age and a small amount of dirt behind the glass.
