Description

A very attractive original still life painting of fruit by a window. The painting is signed by the artist M.S. Thomson, I have not been able to find out much about the artist. But they are clearly very talented and would be an interesting research project.
This is a very attractive painting very much in the Bloomsbury Group style. Though it is hard to put an exact date on the painting it appears to be post war, probably late 1940’s early 1950’s.
The painting is an oil on canvas and is 56cm x 46cm and is offered unframed.


Condition
The condition is good to very good. The colours are bright, though it would benefit from a light clean. There is some minor paint loss below the signature and the wider area around that has some light discolouration. There is a slight bagginess to the canvas.
