A superb solid oak 1920s oak filing cabinet, marked “The Advance Letter Filing Cabinet”. This finely made office piece features six drawers along with the stamp “PATENT”. This Cabinet was originally designed for organising letters and paperwork in a commercial or solicitor’s office. Marketed under the “Advance” brand, this patented filing system was supplied through specialist British office outfitters, firms such as Globe-Wernicke and Office Specialty.

The cabinet has been refinished, ensuring the timber presents beautifully while preserving both the original fittings and the period filing mechanism.
