Description

A lovely crusty 18th Cent longcase clock by Daniel Ray of Sudbury, Suffolk. He worked there from 1725 and he died in 1772.

The black lacquered case is in good original condition. The decoration is essentialy complete but the finish has crackled over the years giving a lovely crusty "country house" look. The hood has two original gilt finial, there is also an additional matching finial to the centre but I don't have enough height to dispay it fitted

The good quality 8 day, 5 pillar movement strikes the hours on a bell and has a very smart brass and silvered dial. It also has the all important strike/silent selector to the arch.

The clock is in running order and keeping good time.

The maximum dimensions are:

230cm (90.5") high
49cm (19") wide
25cm (10") deep
