Description

A stylish late 18th Cent longcase clock by Thomas Pepys of London. He is listed as working there during the mid to late 18th Cent. It has a beautifuly figured mahogany case in typical London style with a long door with a moulded edge and moulded panel to the base. Both the hood and trunk have readed chamfered corners with stop flutes.

The good quality 5 pillar 8 day movement has a most attractive brass dial with silvered chapter ring. To the arch is a dial displaying the phases of the moon. It has retained its original brass cased weights and all brass pendulum with large regulating nut.

The case is in excelent condition, it is a lovely colour and has retained its original finish.

The movement is also in good condition, keeping good time and with all functions working as thet should.
