Description

Unusual painted and gilded overmantle mirror c.1920. 38" x 28½" mirror plate within a broad painted pine frame. Large Regency style carved and gilded egg and dart moulding to the inner edge and a second border of anthemion pattern moulding at the top and sides. Some obvious old wear and the gilding is rubbed through in places to reveal the red ground below. Otherwise very good condition, fitted with a new mirror pate, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
