Description

Long slim Chinese altar table or console c.1900. Traditional cleated construction in cherry wood or similar. 73½" x 17" top over a moulded frame and a superb decorative apron to the front. Featuring an elaborate symmetrical trellis with various carved elements and a bat motif (symbol of good fortune) at the centre. Shaped detail to the frame at the sides and carved leaves alternative with straight staves at rear. Raised on straight legs with a slight shape to feet. Presented as found, some wear but solid and sturdy, in good condition with traces of the original red painted finish.
