Description

Superb late 18th.c. French oak dresser base c.1790. Useful small size, just 57" wide. Three plank top with a simple moulded edge over three drawers and a two door cupboard base fitted with a single shelf inside (depth 17"). Exceptional decorative front with lovely carved foliate detail over the the extravagantly shaped raised and moulded door panels with vertical reeded trim at the centre. Carved moulding around the drawer fronts, repeated as a slim frieze below. Retaining the original brass handles, long shaped and chased brass escutcheon plates and hinges. Attractively shaped apron to the bottom edge, moulded and carved with further floral detail at the front, left plain at the sides. Moulded detail to the front corner stiles over shaped front feet. Oak panelled sides and rear, oak shelf and floor boards. Excellent colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops. Original key supplied.
